Wayne “Al” and Tanya Butler are college sweethearts and celebrated 27 years of marriage, this past November. Wayne is a native of North Augusta, SC is the owner and Founder of The Computer Butlers consulting firm. Presently, he is employed as Head of Information Technology for the U.S., for a Global Retail Corporation with a base in Charlotte, NC. Tanya, a native of Detroit, MI, is a professional Photographer and Educator and owner of Studio B Photography and Art and a Home-school consulting firm. She is a former Charlotte Mecklenburg School teacher, who recently retired as administrator and teacher for The Butler Academy of Excellence in Education (The B.E.E. Academy), after successfully graduating their four children. The Butlers have over 13 years of experience in facilitating marriage workshops and retreats throughout the east coast, for various churches, organizations and within their local ministry.
The Butlers are members of The Living Church where Apostle Parson is their Pastor. There, Wayne serves as an Elder, Trustee Board Chairman, and as a Sunday School and Bible Study Teacher. Prior to these positions, Wayne served as Deacon Board Chairman, Head of The Media & Technology Ministry and Recreations Director. Tanya currently serves as a Praise and Worship Leader, Music Dept. President, Sunday School Teacher and as the President of The Pastor’s Aide Department. Prior, she has served as Sunday School Superintendent, Ministers and Deacons Wives Guild President, Youth Council President and the Teen Chastity Program Director. More than anything, they want to demonstrate God’s power in everything they do.
Outside of the four walls of their church and home, the Butlers seek to be a blessing to the community at large. As a certified Engineer, Architect and Government Chief Information Officer, Wayne serves the Cabarrus County School Board as a member of the Advisory Council for Career & Technical Education. Tanya has served her community as the Historian for the Queen City Chapter of Jack and Jill of America, as a Lead Team Member for the Scholars of Grace Home School Co-op, and as a Public Forum Debate Instructor for the Christian Communicators for Christ. Both Wayne & Tanya have also worked with their Greek organizations to service communities, and have volunteered in, and spearheaded community service projects to assist the homeless, children, and families in need. Their overall goal is to win souls to Christ, using every outlet and opportunity afforded to them.
The Butlers are the proud parents of four phenomenal children whom they have had the privilege of Home Schooling since birth. What started off as a “mission” to offer a unique academic experience, quickly turned into a “vision” to train up well-rounded vessels to fulfill God’s purpose. Their four children are all alumni of their Academy. The eldest is a graduate of Howard University and currently in grad school. Two are in undergraduate at Howard and one is at Penn State.
The strong desire is to encourage others; marriages, families, parents, men, women, boys and girls, remain at the forefront of their ministry. With the
guidance of God’s Holy Spirit, their prayer is to impact as many lives as possible and inspire them to live a life of excellence and joy, that is pleasing unto God, so that HIS name may be glorified!
